EMPOWERED STYLE
This International Women's Day, we have decided to feature some of the women that empower through style. How Cindy Swanson helps women dress with confidence & own their power
What inspired you to start creating content around fashion and personal style?
How do you think personal style impacts a woman’s confidence and self-expression?

What’s one piece of style advice you always share with your audience?
To have good, elevated basics and build from there! You don’t need to purchase everything you see me share…just start with good, elevated basics and you can mix and match many of those pieces and then build as you see something you’d really love to have. For instance, a great pair of denim, that fits YOU well, and makes you feel confident. I’d also say a good pair of ecru denim, a good white tee, an oversized cashmere sweater, etc. I’ll add to that advice and say - layering! For instance, layering a long sleeve tee, or button up top, under a sweater where the collar of the tee or top, shows…adds depth and texture. As well as adding in great pieces of jewelry!
Can you share a moment when you saw your influence truly empower a woman to embrace her style?
I’ve had many, actually…from followers who DM me with photos of them in entire outfits that they have purchased from my links and wore to work or a conference and had gotten so many compliments at the event. It’s SO fun to get these messages, that are usually sent with words of how great they felt that day! Or sweet messages from women saying they are happy they found me and that they are getting so much help from following along! Those messages, knowing that it’s helping, really keep me going!
What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and how do you hope to inspire women through your work?
It’s a moment to think of, and honor the incredible women who have paved the way before us and to inspire those who are coming next. And as a reminder for women regarding style, it isn’t just about what we wear, it’s about how it makes us feel… and how we make OTHER women feel, by lifting each other up. and supporting each other.
